Panasonic P11 Unboxing

Panasonic might have announced its retirement from the consumer smartphone market worldwide, but weirdly enough, that has not stopped the company from launching devices in India. One of them is the Panasonic P11, which seems like a specced down version of the P51 that we reviewed earlier. The P11 has almost the same specifications as the P51, with a quad core 1.2 GHz processor, 4GB of internal storage, but running on the older Android 4.1 operating system. But what’s striking is the outer shell, in a radical fluorescent green colour. But not to worry, there are replaceable covers in the box, which we show you in the unboxing video here –

As with any mid range phone these days, the box always seems to pack more contents. This time, it’s the two extra replaceable back covers. The list of contents are –

  • Two extra back covers
  • iPod style headset
  • micro USB cable
  • Travel Charger
  • 2000 mAH battery
  • User manual and warranty card

First impressions of the phone are pretty normal. Other than the striking colour of the case, nothing seemed to catch our fancy but at the price this comes at, it is expected. The phone has a nice 5 inch 720p display on the front and Panasonic has installed a scratch guard on it, making the viewing angles slightly less optimal, but still good.

Here are the instruction to removing the back cover. We immediately installed a black one on it, because lets face it, the fluorescent green is a bit eccentric for our tastes. But the point here is, it is extremely hard to open the back, as evident from the video above. And this is how the fluorescent green looks on the phone –

We have two other coloured backs inside the box. Glossy white and matte black and we found the feel of the matte black to be really nice. We’d say the phone has decent build quality, much like the P51.

Other than this, the phone packs pretty much the run of the mill specs, a basic formula type handset for the mid range market. There is a typical 8 megapixel shooter on the back and a near-stock UI for the OS. In case you are interested, here are the full specifications –
