LG G Flex with 6-inch 720p Curved OLED display, Self-repairing back cover announced

LG G Flex, the company’s first smartphone with a curved OLED display is now official. It has a 6-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD Curved OLED display, powered by a 2.26 GHz  quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera. The Curved Plastic OLED display from LG Display has Real RGB sub-pixels for better colors and the display is vertically concave from top to bottom with a radius of 700mm. The phone has a 3500 mAh curved battery developed by LG Chem.

Since the phone is curved, loud-speaker present on the back doesn’t touch the ground so the sound would be much crisper than other smartphones, says LG. The back cover has self-healing technology since it is coated with a special material so that scratches can be removed within minutes. The power button and the volume keys are present on the back and has high-end sound quality (24bit, 192kHz), similar to the LG G2.

Other software features include, Dual Window for multi-tasking, Swing Lockscreen that moves depending on the slope of the smartphone, Q Theater to launch gallery, video player, YouTube, etc from the lock screen, Face Detection Indicator, LG Knock-On Guest Mode and more.
