HTC reports Q3 2013 losses to the tune of $102 million

HTC today published its financial report for Q3 2013 and disclosed that losses were to the tune of $102 million. The company’s revenue was $1.6 billion which is down from last year’s $2.4 billion. Gross margins too were down at 20.4%. The biggest was to the operating margin which fell from +7% to -7.4% year on year.

HTC expects revenues to reach $1.4 – 1.5 billion with margins of about 20% over the course of the next quarter. If this proves true, the Taiwanese brand will post its 2nd consecutive quarter of losses. The launch of new devices like the One Max and One Mini are said to have had a positive effect on sales.
