BBM now available on iPad and iPod Touch

BlackBerry has just pushed an update for the BBM app on both iOS and Android. While the Android app brings with it some bug fixes, performance improvements, most of the feature additions lie on the iOS side of things. The biggest change with the update is that BBM is now supported on non cellular enabled iOS devices. This means that you can now install BlackBerry Messenger on your iPad as well as the iPod Touch.

Before you raise your hopes much, its best that you know that the app has not been redesigned for the iPad. Instead, it runs in pixel doubling mode and is essentially the iPhone app blown up to fill the larger screen. Other changes revolve around bug fixes, performance improvements. Complete changelog is embedded below:

– Support for iPod and iPad devices running iOS6 and iOS7
– Improvements to right-to-left language support
– More options for sharing your BBM PIN Barcode
– Find your friends on other social networks who are also using BBM
– Fixes an issue where some users would be missing BBM contact names
