Intex has announced that the company has tied-up with MediaTek again to launch India’s first smartphone featuring MediaTek’s MT6592 True Octa-Core processor. The upcoming Intex smartphone doesn’t have a name yet, but it would feature a 6-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display and run on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It would feature a 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED Flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera similar to the Aqua i7.
Commenting on the announcement, Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, Business Head- Mobile, Intex Technologies said,

It would come equipped with a 2GB RAM and comes with 16GB and 32 GB variants. Intex has also revealed that it would have all metal finish with an exchangeable battery design and pack dual Yamaha 1420 speakers. Battery life is not available yet.

No word on the launch date or the pricing yet. The True Octa-core processor from MediaTek can activate all eight cores simultaneously for exceptional multi-tasking. Even though MediaTek had revealed details about the chip back in July, the processor is set to be launched globally this week, reveals the Intex press release.
