LG Electronics has announced that the G Flex, the company’s first curved smartphone would go on sale globally starting in Singapore and Hong Kong this month. The curved smartphone was announced back in October and went on sale in Korea last month. It packs a 6-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD Real RGB Curved Curved Plastic OLED display from LG Display that vertically concave from top to bottom with a radius of 700mm, powered by a 2.26 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean).
It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera. It packs a 3500 mAh curved battery developed by LG Chem and has a self-healing back cover.
The LG G Flex would go on pre-order in Singapore beginning December 8 and would go on sale starting from 21st December. It would go on sale in Hong Kong starting from December 13th through major distribution channels including five local carriers and would be available in key markets in Asia before the end of this year. It would be available in Taiwan early January. It was expected to go on sale in European markets starting from this month, but LG has announced that the phone would go on sale in Europe early next year.
