Yahoo Weather app is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful weather applications across various smartphone markets. The award winning app has finally been updated with native support for iPad. The weather application now scales beautifully on the big display of the iPad and looks absolutely gorgeous.
The major highlights of the latest update are the subtle animations that extend throughout the application. Swiping horizontally takes you to the weather of locations that you have chosen and swiping vertically reveals more about the chosen location. The animations as you swipe through are just perfect and work seamlessly. Animations only tell one part of the story and the seamless experience is attributed to the superb background images which are sourced directly from the Flickr community.
Yahoo automatically pulls out nice outdoor shots of the location you have selected from its expansive library and puts it in the background proving a visual treat when using the application. Yahoo had introduced the Yahoo Weather application earlier this year on iPhone. An iPhone app launch was imminently followed by an Android app and now we have the iPad version of this beautiful application. Though the functionality of the app isn’t the best, it sure is one of the best designed apps of this year. Apple gave a design award for the iPhone application for its amazing design and experience.
