Foursquare for Android updated with redesigned UI and faster performance

Foursquare for Android has been updated (v2013-12-19) with a completely new user interface that is more flatter, similar to iOS 7. Foursquare for iPhone got updated with redesigned iOS 7 look earlier this month that also added new features, but the new Android update doesn’t add any new features.

The official changelog just says, “All new lighter and faster version”. We noticed a new Foursquare icon, a new Side bar with a circular profile picture, redesigned in-app icons and fonts, new icons for search, notifications and map view on the top and a new check-in icon on the bottom.

On the top there is a free space that would show interesting things happening nearby. The home page now shows only things that are happening nearby, so you have to manually turn on the worldwide box to see what’s happening worldwide. Have you updated the Foursquare app for Android? Do you like the new look? Let us know in the comments below.
