Last year this time, we were hearing leaked specifications and rumors about HTC’s then flagship – HTC One which was known in the rumor mill as HTC M7. Today, we find ourselves in a similar position as rumors about HTC’s next flagship start coming in and HTC’s next flagship is reportedly codenamed HTC M8.
Rumors were floating around the HTC M8 will feature a 5inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 800 and UltraPixel camera. These rumors are close to real as popular twitter leakster @evleaks has tweeted the specifications of HTC M8. According to the tweet, the specifications of M8 are
- Snapdragon 800
- 5inch Full HD 1080p display
- 2GB RAM
- UltraPixel rear camera
- 2.1MP front camera
- 802.11a/b/g/n/ac
- Android 4.4 KitKat
- Sense 6.0
Going by the specifications, there isn’t much change from the previous flagship – HTC One. The processor has been upgraded and the screen size has become big while the software is just relatively newer(the older version is expected to get KitKat very soon). The supposedly leaked photos of HTC M8 suggest that the design language won’t be much different from the current flagship. So if this is indeed the specifications of the next generation HTC flagship, it will have a tough time to compete against Samsung’s Galaxy S5 which is rumored to have a 5inch 2K display and 16MP camera.
