Last month there was a report from The Information that claimed that HP would launch 6- and 7-inch Android tablets with voice calling targeted at developing markets like China and India and is also planning to launch new smartphones. A recent report from 9 to 5 Google says that HP is planning to launch a smartphone this this week.
The smartphone is expected to be similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Mega series with a large screen and mid-range specs. It might feature a large screen closer to 6-inches, says the report. The HP Slate 6 Voice Tab that leaked on GFXBench and Bluetooth SIG, revealed a device with a 720p display, Marvell PXA1088 quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 processor and Android 4.2.2 on-board. We are not sure if this is a tablet or a large-screen phone.
According to earlier rumors the HP Slate tablet with voice calling is expected to priced around $250. New rumors reveal that the HP smartphone that is expected to launch this week would be priced less than $199. Let’s wait and see if it’s a tablet with voice calling capabilities or a large-screen phone.
