LG G Flex, the world’s first curved flexible smartphone has finally made its way into India, with a price tag of Rs. 69,999, as we previously revealed. The bendable 6 inch device had taken the world by storm when it was officially announced last year, with a curved flexible display, a self healing back and the curved flexible battery being its highlights. Taking cues from LG’s own TV lineup, the curved OLED screen on the G Flex offers a panoramic movie watching experience up close, in landscape, and a better voice audibility during calls. These are the two main reasons why the curved screen exists, but it also has a flexible body overall and really thin bezels with G2-like buttons on the back, making it really unique. This is touted as LG’s most forward thinking phone yet, and definitely makes for a good showcase of technology, which LG hopes, will set the precedent for other future devices to come.
After the success of G2 and Nexus 5, LG continues its onslaught, but with innovation rather than going for the mass market formula. But even then, the G Flex is not just a concept showcase, it is also a very usable present-day device, with the blazing fast Snapdragon 800 processor, 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of inbuilt storage giving enough high-end fodder for the power-hungry. There is also a 13 megapixel camera to add to the already impressive list of specs. We have been playing with the G Flex for a while and we will be letting you know our complete thoughts on the device, but until then here is a complete overview of the device’s specifications, to give you an idea of how the device is stacked up –

With its launch in India, we will also be bringing you the retail version’s unboxing and of course, the full review, real soon. The availability of this device is slated for this month, and make no mistake, the sky high price is not reachable for most of us. But consider it like a super car. It is definitely meant to showcase LG’s technological prowess more than selling a bucket load, especially for a market that might not be ready yet. With that said, look forward to our review and let us know what you think in the comments section below.
