LG G Flex, the pioneering flexible phone with a curved screen, was officially launched in India yesterday. This is out and out a technological showcase product from LG, with innovations like a flexible display, body and battery brought to the table. It also features all the high end features that one would expect from a flagship device, but is also a phablet with a 6″ screen. Basically, this is the pinnacle of LG’s engineering prowess, which might actually end up setting the precedent for a whole lot of devices in the future. The Indian variant we have here, is priced at a sky high Rs.69,999/- which is unattainable for most. With that price tag, apart from the device itself, what does the G Flex pack in terms of box contents? We unbox the device to find out –

As you can see in the video, there is not much to say about the box contents, they are pretty standard for a high end phone, but it is still good to note that it ships with the Quad Beat in-ear headset. Here are the box contents laid out in a single pic –
Box contents
- LG G Flex in Titanium Silver colour
- Micro USB cable
- LG Quad Beat earphones with mic with extra ear buds
- SIM ejector tool
- USB charging plug – US
- User guide and warranty booklet
We had already unboxed the South Korean version with LTE Advanced a while back, and found it to be fully loaded with custom apps and even had an in built antenna for live TV, but the Indian retail version has neither, but feels the same otherwise.
The POLED screen on the front has a peculiar texture to it when viewing the interface, but has great viewing angles, saturation and brightness. In fact, thanks to OGS, the icons feel like they are floating on the screen. It is a 6″ 720p panel that looks and works great, especially for watching movies and playing games, a thorough delight, we must add.
LG wouldn’t reveal the technology behind its self healing back, but if you ask us, it does work like magic. It literally becomes devoid of slight scratches on the surface after you leave it for sometime, and much like the LG G2, the G Flex also goes for thin bezels and controls at the back, with a 13 MP camera, single LED flash and a IR LED blaster accompanying it. We guess LG has replicated whatever it has done on the G2 on the G Flex, but there’s a lot more to the device we haven’t touched. So stay tuned for more analysis in terms of benchmarks, gaming and of course, our complete review coming really soon. Until then, here are some more pics of the box contents –
