Lenovo Vibe Z Unboxing

The Lenovo K900 was the Chinese company’s first flagship launch in India. It had really good specifications for a high end phone and launched at a competitive price, only to then get lesser and suddenly turn into a really good value for money device. We had been waiting for its successor for quite a while now, and now it has come in the form of the Lenovo Vibe Z, which aims to fill the gap the K900 has left in the Indian market. The Vibe Z was announced in India just a couple of days back, at an event which we attended. It has been priced at Rs. 35,999, which is very close to what the K900 was launched for. We had taken a good look at the Vibe Z aka K910 at the Consumer electronics show in Vegas, but the phone was announced in China way back in October. So, what is the phone’s Indian retail version going to be like? Here’s out unboxing video –

The box and the box contents resemble the K900, a lot. Here are all the contents laid out in a single photo –

Right after taking it out of the box, we immediately noticed how light the phone was. Measuring 7.9mm in thickness and weighing just 147g, the phone is thin and light, and mainly thanks to the new design, it loses all the heft that the K900 was known for. Sure the K900 was thinner but the Vibe Z makes it much better to handle due to the slightly diminished dimensions and a curvier back that is just easier on the hands. The display is a 1080p unit, displaying the Vibe ROM by default, a app list-less launcher, powered by the Snapdragon 800 processor. We have the same 13 MP camera that the K900 was famous for, with a f1.8 aperture lens.

Overall, the Vibe Z seems like a great flagship at first glance. A really well built body, but not compromising on weight or thickness. A decently large 5.5 inch display, powerful internals and a camera make sure that the flagship is still relevant in a fast paced market. We will be letting you know how the device is, with synthetic benchmarks, gaming videos and of course the full review too. Until then, hang on, and let us know if you have any questions in the comments section below.
