Nokia has launched the Nokia X, the company’s first Android smartphone based on Android Open Source Project (AOSP). It was announced at the Mobile World Congress 2014 at Barcelona, last month and packs a 4-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 play (MSM8225) processor and runs on Nokia X software platform 1.0 based on AOSP Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has dual SIM support and a 3-megapixel rear camera.
It has tile-based Home screen, redesigned Fastlane notifications centre and also has Nokia Store to download Android applications. Nokia has partnered with several developers such as to bring popular apps and games such as Facebook, LINE Messenger, Picsart, Plants vs. Zombies 2, Real Football 2014, Skype, Spotify, Swiftkey, Twitter, Viber, Vine, WeChat, TrueCaller and more to their Nokia X series smartphones.
