HTC has not yet launched its flagship device of this year, but we know it is just a week away before it launches the all new HTC One. In the meantime, HTC is also preparing a midrange Desire series smartphone. HTC had introduced the Desire 816 at MWC 2014 earlier this year and now plans to unveil the Desire 516.
The Desire 516 was approved by Chinese authorities today and PhoneArena has managed to get a few photos of the device. The HTC Desire 516 weighs around 173 grams and measures 140 x72 x 9.7 mm. The HTC Desire 516 comes with a 5inch qHD display. According to PhoneArena, the device will come in two variants – Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, quad-core 1.3GHz CPU, 5MP rear camera with LED flash, VGA front-facing camera, and only 512MB of RAM and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, 1.2GHz quad-core processor and 1GB RAM.
Earlier this year, HTC had announced they wanted to concentrate on the mid range and entry range market and from the looks of it, the Desire 516 looks to be in that range. We will have more information for you as soon as we have it.
