Twitter #music used to be a service that would help you choose better music. Atleast, that is what the team had in mind, when Twitter acquired We Are Hunted team in 2012 and introduced Twitter Music. Twitter Music has never been famous and last year, around October, Twitter decided to put it to rest.
The company stopped development on the platform and the service just existed. But finally towards the end of March, Twitter decided that it had enough with Twitter Music and announced via a Tweet that it will be pulling down the Twitter Music app from App Store. It also mentioned that those who have the application will be able to use it till April 18 after which, Twitter Music will no longer function and will cease to exist.
Later this afternoon, we will be removing Twitter #music from the App Store. If you have the app, it will continue to work until April 18.

Twitter also said that they were experimenting with new ways to bring the users a better music discovery option based on what is trending in Twitter.
We continue to experiment with new ways to bring you great content based on the music activity we see every day on Twitter.
