Samsung unveiled the Galaxy K zoom, the company’s latest camera-centric smartphone with a 20.7-megapixel at an event in Singapore recently. We got some hands-on time with the camera phone and also managed to compare it with some phones, including the Galaxy S5. Next to the Galaxy S5, the Galaxy K zoom looks exactly similar on the front. The Galaxy K zoom has a 4.8-inch 720p Super AMOLED display and the S5 has a 5.2-inch 1080p Super AMOLED screen. Both these run on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with the latest Touchwiz UI. The Galaxy K zoom has the same dotted patterns on the back, similar to the Galaxy S5. This offers better grip to the user. Since the K zoom has a curved design, it doesn’t looks big like the S4 zoom. It also has a new retractable 10x optical zoom lens. The S5 has a 16-megapixel camera on the back with Ultra HD video recording, but the Galaxy K zoom only supports 1080p video recording at 60fps.
On the sides, the K zoom has some plastic finish along with chrome rim, but the Galaxy S5 has chrome finish completely on the sides. The Galaxy K zoom has OIS that is not present in the Galaxy S5.
