“Your new profile helps you tell your story to other professionals when they’re looking for you on the go. If you aren’t a master storyteller, we’ll let you know what’s missing and how you can add it. You’ll also enjoy discovering new insights about other professionals with the “in common” and endorsements sections we added”.
said LinkedIn in a company blog post.

The main aim of the redesigned app is to highlights your career in a more visually appealing way. It puts more light on skills, experience and education at the top and makes it easier to change. The update also allows you to get a more insights about who has been viewing your profile, where they have been viewing it from and a section pointing out what you have in common. When users check the “Who’s Viewed Your Profile” section of its mobile app, they will be able to tell if someone found them in a search.
