Gmail 5.0 for Android with support for Exchange and other email accounts now available

Gmail 5.0 for Android

Details about Gmail 5.0 for Android with support for IMAP, POP3 email accounts like Yahoo and Outlook surfaced couple of weeks back. Even a promo video of the new Gmail app showed up. Now Android Police has got hold of the APK of the Gmail 5.0 app that brings all these new features, including support for Exchange accounts.

The Gmail 5.0 app also brings Material Design, as expected, rounded avatars, refreshed iconography and more. Google released Inbox, a new alternative for the Gmail app, but it doesn’t support Google Apps account or other email accounts apart from Gmail. Google’s stock email app already supports IMAP, POP3 and Exchange accounts, but it is available only for Nexus, Google Play edition and Android One devices.

You can download the APK for Gmail 5.0 (1520254) and APK for Exchange Services v6.5-1520254 from the source link below. Google is expected to roll out the update for Android users soon. It is not clear if Google plans to update the Gmail app for iOS with these new features.
