ICICI Bank has launched icicibankpay, the company’s new banking service that lets their customers to transfer money to anyone in the country who has a Twitter account, check account balance, view last three transactions and also recharge prepaid mobile. Any ICICI Bank savings account customer, who has a mobile number registered with the bank and has a Twitter account, can access this facility and this is completely secure, says the company. ICICI Bank becomes the first bank in India to allow money transfer on Twitter.
Here are the instruction you need to follow to register for the service.
- Follow ICICI Bank’s Twitter Handle – @ICICIBank
- Send a direct message to @icicibank in the following format : #reg <Your registered mobile number on ICICI Bank> Example: #reg 1234567890
- Get OTP on your registered mobile number.*
- Send a direct message, with the OTP you received to @icicibank, in the following format: #regotp <OTP>
- Example: #regotp 123456
Once registered, you can DM from your Twitter account to the Bank’s Twitter account in the following formats:
- Transfer money: A unique feature that allows the customers of ICICI Bank to send money to anyone with a savings account and a Twitter account – #Pay<space> @<twitter account of the recipient><space><Amount>
- #ibal – to know balance in the primary account
- #itran – to know last three transactions in the primary account
- #TopUp <space><10-digit mobile no.> <space> <OperatorCode> <space> <Amount> – To recharge prepaid mobile phone
