Google updates Calendar for Android with 7 day view, drive integration and more


Google has updated Calendar app for Android with a number of new features and improvements. Most of the features have been added thanks to feedback from Google Calendar users.

First up, the Calendar app is getting 7 day week view with pinch to zoom support. Prior to this, the app shows five days at a time. Secondly, users can now finally add Google Drive files to relevant events and Drive will even check if everyone can open them. Now, you can control whether birthdays from Google+ are shown in settings.

Other additions include, a settings option to show week numbers, ability to import .ics files from other apps. Calendar app was last updated in November 2014 with Material Design features and improvements. Google said that the latest update will roll out to users over next fee days. Also, the company said that it is working on Calendar app for iPhone.
