Asus announced the Zenfone 2 at CES 2015 in January. The company will launch the Zenfone 2 in three variants in India on April 23rd. Lets’ compare Zenfone 2 ZE500CL and Zenfone 2 ZE551ML and take a look at the hardware difference in these two variants.
The Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML sports a 5.5-inch ( 1920 x 1080 pixels) display with Corning gorilla glass 3 protection and is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 processor with PowerVR G6430 GPU. Running Android 5.0 Lollipop, it has 4GB RAM ,32GB internal memory, expandable memory via microSD. On the other hand the Asus Zenfone 2 ZE500CL sports a 5-inch HD display along with Gorilla Glass 3 and is powered by 1.6 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 processor. Running Android 5.0 Lollipop, it has 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage expandable via micro SD card slot.
The ZE551ML has a 5MP front facing camera while the ZE500CL has a 2MP front camera. Both have the earpiece and ASUS branding at the center.
Both the devices have three capacitive buttons for back, home and multitasking present below the display. There is also the trademark metallic strip below the buttons that gives the phone a premium look.
Both the phones have volume rockers at the back below the camera lens. The ZE551ML has a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and Real Tone flash while the ZE500CL has a 8MP camera with single LED flash.
Both the phones have Intel and Zenfone branding at the lower back followed by the loudspeaker grill.
Both the Zenfone 2 variants have a removable plastic back cover with Asus branding at the center. The Zenfone 2 ZE551ML 3000mAh built-in battery, while the Zenfone 2 ZE500CL has a 2500 mAh built-in battery.
Micro USB port is present at the bottom with the microphone for both the phone. The Zenfone 2 ZE551ML measures 152.5 x 77.2 x 10.9mm and weighs 170 grams while the ZE500CL measures 148.1 x 71.5 x 10.9mm and weighs 155 grams.
Both the phones have the power button and 3.5mm audio jack on the top along with microphone.
Both these smartphones have 4G LTE support, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi and GPS.
