Huawei launched the Huawei Holly smartphone and the Honor X1 tablet in India exclusively on Flipkart last year. Since then it launched several Honor branded devices on Flipkart, and recently launched the Honor Bee and Honor 4C smartphones in the country, in partnership with Flipkart. Today, a new PTI report (via) says that the company will soon start selling the Honor smartphones in retail outlets as well.
The report says that Huawei has approached a leading south India based mobile phones retail store, which has few outlets in north India, for selling its Honor smartphones, according to its sources. Most companies, especially Chinese most smartphone makers follow online-only model to sell their devices, which saves set-up, processing and operational costs for these companies. It is also useful to track the number of smartphones sold.
Huawei’s Honor branded devices are sold through flash sales on Flipkart, for few weeks after the launch to meet the demand, after that it will be sold through open sale. Selling Honor smartphones through retail stores will offer customers to check out the smartphone before purchasing it.
