Cortana tracked your flight by getting the information from your email. With the latest update, it will now ask if you need help tracking the trip if a flight-related email hits your inbox. If you answer yes, Cortana will start to document the trip in the Notebook, a small window that keeps puts all your needs in a single place. For example, the Notebook will keep tabs on your itinerary and other trip-related activity to make your trip more easy and hassle free. Users can now check their travel plans by making requests of Cortana, such as “Show me my flights.” You can get more specific with a question such as “Show me my flights to New York in August.” Cortana will beef up all the details available on the flight in question.

Just a day before your actual flight, Cortana prompts you about when online check-in starts and links you to the airline’s check-in page. It will even deliver the latest weather reports for your destination. Moving on, Cortana will monitor traffic conditions to the airport on the day your flight is scheduled. Once at the airport, Cortana shows you a map of the venue so you know where to drop off your bags and take care of other pre-flight tasks. Finally, if you are travelling to a foreign country, Cortana taps into a currency converter for your easement.

You can access the new features by heading to Cortana > Cortana’s Notebook > Interests, and tapping Add > Travel > Trip Planner.
