Xolo, the homegrown smartphone maker had announced ‘Black’, online-only sub-brand for India last month. Now, the company is planning to bring a new phone from the Black brand every quarter.
Xolo will launch the first Black smartphones under the series later this month. The company has partnered e-commerce major Flipkart who will sell these devices exclusively that are priced at under Rs 15,000. Smartphones under the Black brand will support 4G LTE and will be priced in range of Rs 8,000- Rs 15,000. It will sport a dual rear camera and will have Xolo’s own HIVE 1.5 UI. At Xolo, we have always focused on building a strong digital presence. Even now, Xolo has 20-22% of the total sales coming from online channels. Introducing an ‘online-only’ sub-brand is a natural progression for Xolo, catering to the experience-seeking online customers,”
Xolo, Business Head, Sunil Raina told PTI.
Raina further added that metro cities and tier I cities make up for about 40-50 per cent of the company’s business and this region also has a strong uptake for online buying. Xolo is also adopting the online only model that is being used by major companies like Xiaomi, Micromax, Yu and ZTE.
