A new smartphone from Acer called the S59 has shown up on benchmarks. The device is likely to be a selfie centric phone as it has two 13 Megapixel cameras – one on the back and one on the front.
The device has a 5 inch 720p display which works out to around 294 ppi. It is powered by a 64bit octa-core Mediatek MT6753 processor clocked in at 1.3GHz along with Mali T720 GPU.
The phone will also have 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. Apart from the fact that both the front and rear cameras have 13 Megapixel resolution, both the phones also support 4k recording on either side.
The device will support 4G LTE (category 4) and might be announced during IFA, Berlin in September. While the phone is referred to as the S59 in the benchmarks, it is not necessary that it will be the final name that the company announces during launch. It is currently running on Android 5.1 Lollipop at the moment so we could expect that or a newer version upon launch as well.
