Apple unveiled the iPhone 6s last month. The successor of the iPhone 6 is all set to launch in India on October 16th. We brought you the unboxing of the phone recently and now let us take a look at the hardware and specs in this photo gallery.
The iPhone 6s sports a 4.7-inch LED-backlit IPS LCD display with 1334×750-pixel resolution at 326 ppi and 1400:1 contrast ratio. It has a new Apple A9 processor with M9 motion coprocessor and pack 2GB of RAM. The iPhone 6s runs on the latest iOS 9 operating system that supports 3D Force Touch.
At the front the iPhone 6s has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture and Retina Flash that uses a custom display chip to make the display three times brighter for capturing better selfies even in low lighting conditions and supports 720p HD recording. The earpiece is present at the center along with the usual set of sensors.
There is a trademark Touch ID home button on the bezel below the display that is integrated with a fingerprint sensor that allows you to pay via Apple’s Apple Pay mobile payment service.
On the right side, the phone has a power button and a nano SIM card try holder. The iPhone 6s measures 138.3×67.1×7.1mm and weighs 143g, which is 14 grams heavier compared to the iPhone 6 mainly due to the new 3D Touch display.
The volume rockers and the rotation lock switch are present on the left side.
The 3.5mm audio jack, lightning port and loudspeakers are located at the bottom.
The iPhone 6s has a 12-megapixel iSight camera with 1.22µ pixels that comes with a True Tone flash. It also supports 4K video recording (3840 by 2160) at 30 fps.
The Apple logo is present at the center while the iPhone branding is situated at the lower back. The body of the new iPhone 6s is made of strong 7000 Series aluminum. Connectivity options on the phone includes Bluetooth 4.2, Qualcomm MDM9635M LTE Cat. 6 modem with support for 23 LTE bands, A-GPS with GLONASS, NFC for Apple Pay and VoLTE support. It packs a 1715mAh battery, compared to the 1810mAh battery in last year’s iPhone 6.
The iPhone 6s is available in Space Grey, Gold, Silver and Rose Gold options. The unlocked 16GB, 64GB and 128GB variants are priced at $649, $749 and $849, respectively.
