Micromax launched the Canvas 5 smartphone, the company’s latest top-end smartphone in Canvas series earlier this month for Rs. 11,999. We already brought you the hands-on impressions of the smartphone from the launch event. We unboxed it recently, here is the unboxing video.

The Canvas 5 has a 5.2-inch 1080p IPS full lamination display with 2.5D arc glass, and has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Powered by a 1.3GHz Octa-Core 64-bit MediaTek MT6753 processor with Mali-T720 GPU, it packs 3GB of RAM and runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop). At the launch event Micromax said that it is upgradable to Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). On the front it has a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash that will help you capture better selfies even in poor lighting conditions.
The removable back cover has leather-like finish. It has a 13-megapixel camera on the back with LED Flash and PDAF for quick focus.
It has two micro SIM slots under the back cover with 4G LTE connectivity on both, including 4G bands for India. It also has a separate microSD expansion slot that accepts cards up to 64GB, according to Micromax. It packs a 2900mAh built-in battery. We will bring you the complete review of the smartphone soon.
