YU YUTOPIA set for launch on December 7th

The much hyped smartphone from YU, the YUTOPIA is set for a launch on December 7th. The smartphone will be the first flagship grade smartphone in the YU smartphone lineup and will have a premium metal build.

The device will reportedly sport a 5.2″ 1440p display and will be powered by a Snapdragon 810 processor. YU should be using V2.1 of the processor which fixes most of the heating issues present on the first version. Coupled with an Adreno 430 GPU and 4GB of RAM, the device should be up there with the likes of the OnePlus 2 in terms of performance.

It will have 32GB of internal memory and will ship with Android Lollipop 5.1.1 with Cyanogen OS 12.1. It will have a 21 Megapixel rear camera with LED flash as well as an 8 Megapixel front facing camera. It will support 4G LTE and should have support for dualSIMs however microSD card support hasn’t been confirmed yet. The smartphone is expected to be priced less than Rs 30,000 and that will make it one of the cheapest smartphones to pack a 1440p display. The teaser that can be seen above makes a direct reference to the OnePlus 2 as it mentions sandstone so the pricing would be aggressive enough to compete with it.
