The interactive book has touch sensors, and motion sensors to understand the reader’s movements. Based on those movements and the storyline of the book, the system adds augmented reality elements over the pages. A small device plugs into an interface over the spine of the book and projects imagery over the pages and a small speaker adds sound to the experience.

In the “Media Enhanced Pop-up Book,” each page of the book has another page that opens up vertically. A story controller, implemented at the computing device such as a phone or a tablet, detects a pop-up page of the multimedia enhanced pop-up book when the pop-up page pops-up in front of the display, and presents media content associated with the detected pop-up page on the display.
