Samsung unveiled Gear 360, the company’s first 360-degree virtual reality camera at the MWC 2016 earlier this year. It went on sale in Korea in April. We managed to grab one from Korea, here is the unboxing.

The Gear 360 has two dual fish-eye lenses with 15-megapixel image sensors, DRIMe5s Image Processor and can capture high-resolution (3840×1920) 360-degree videos. It also supports 30-megapixel still images. On the top there is a 0.5-inch (72 x 32 pixels) PMOLED display for status and settings, along with a record/select key. It also has menu and back hardware buttons on the right side for navigation.
Each lens can capture in 195 degrees, with the overlap removing any gaps when 360 images are stitched together. Users can shoot 180-degree wide-angle video and images with only using one side of the camera lens. It comes with a micro SD card (up to 128GB) slot and micro USB port under the removable flap. The Gear 360 has IP53 ratings for dust and water resistance.
It is compatible with Samsung smartphones that include the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy S6+, Note5, Galaxy S6 edge and Galaxy S6. It connects to these devices over Bluetooth using the Gear 360 Manager app and also has NFC for pairing. It also has WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4/5GHz).
The Samsung Gear 360 is priced at 399,300 Korean Won (US$ 344 / 22,960 approx.) and currently available in Korea, UK, Singapore and few other countries. It will roll out in more countries including the U.S. later this year. Currently there are no details about the India launch.
