Apple is reportedly in talks with Sonder Design to acquire the company for its dynamic keyboard technology, which uses E Ink to offer dynamic, contextual keys that can be customized to your preference.

According to reports, Foxconn and E Ink Holdings, strategic partners of Sonder, were assisting in the discussions with Apple. The reports say that Apple has confirmed that Sonder has been in discussions with Apple’s procurement board regarding Sonder’s laptop module.

These reports also say that Sonder confirmed that it is currently closing B2B procurement contracts with three third-party laptop companies to integrate the technology into their products.

Apple is expected to include a new OLED touch panel for dynamic buttons on new MacBooks that are expected to arrive this year. The new Sonder keyboard technology could be used in keyboard for Mac or Macbooks in future.
