Facebook is making Messenger more fun for its users with the addition of instant games. The instant messaging app will get popular games like Pac Man, Space Invaders, Galaga and Words With Friends.
After updating the Messenger app you will see a new game controller icon next to sticker and photos button. Tapping on it will bring up a list of the free games that are available to play within the app. After you finish a round, people in the conversation will see your score and will have the opportunity to challenge you back. People can also discover games within the Messenger search field, or on Facebook News Feed where they can play solo or challenge friends back in Messenger. Currently there are 17 games to choose from. Facebook Messenger will be adding more and more free games in the following weeks and months.
Instant Games is launching today in 30 countries with 17 games from developers like Bandai Namco, Zynga, King Konami, and so on. You can access the games on both iOS and Android. This is not the first time Facebook has added games to Messenger. Earlier this year Messenger added addictive hidden football and basketball games.
