There have been reports that Samsung will provide OLED panels for future iPhones. Now, a latest one from The Investor says Samsung has a finalised a $4.3-billion deal to manufacture 60 million OLED panels.

Apple has been rumored from a long time to add OLED panels to next generation iPhones. According to the report, this is the second major deal for OLED panels between the two companies as the first one was for 100 million display panels in April last year. Considering the two deals, it  Samsung is said to be making 160 million OLED display panels for iPhone models this year, which makes it the main supplier for iPhone display. Samsung already supplys Apple with OLED displays for the Apple Watch and LCD displays for their iPads.

iPhones have always had good displays but they don’t offer as  deep blacks or contrast levels as other smartphones with OLED display. It is expected that only the high-end model of the iPhone will come with an OLED display that will increase its quality and desirability.
