Supercell, the company behind games such as Clash Royale and Clash of Clans had generated a revenue of 2.3 Billion US$ during the year 2016. However, we didn’t get a breakdown of the amount generated from each game during the said period until now.
Clash Royale apparently accounted for slightly 1 Billion US$ out of the total 2.3 Billion US$ total. This figure was achieved within the first year of release of the game itself.
This also means that the growth rate of Clash Royale is multiple times as much as Clash of Clans had experienced. It is truly interesting to see this huge spurt in growth even considering the fact that Clash of Clans wasn’t available on Android during its initial release period in 2012.
Clash Royale managed to gross around 5 times the amount of money in its first 11 months that Clash of Clans managed to get in the same period of time.
Clash Royale has also remained the top earner on mobile platforms despite receiving stiff competition from Pokemon Go which also managed to cross the 1 Billion US$ mark. Pokemon Go had impacted the revenues of Clash Royale during the first two months of its release but Clash Royale has managed to stay in the Top 10 iOS apps list since September 2016 on the US App Store.
If the past is any indication, Clash Royale could very well be on its way to breaking more records and becoming the top earning game for Supercell.
