Nikon has introduced Coolpix W300 rugged compact camera in India. It is waterproof up to 30m, is capable of surviving falls of up to 2.4m, weathers the cold temperatures down to -10°C, and manages a dustproof ruggedness, claims Nikon.
It sports 16MP, 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor with 5x optical zoom and can record 4K Ultra HD resolution videos at 30fps. It also has three-inch LCD and built-in GPS, altimeter, and depth gauge. The camera now uses the SnapBridge app to interface with an Android or iOS device with support for Bluetooth, NFC, and Wi-Fi. It is available in camouflage, orange, yellow, and black colors. The W300 measures 4.4 x 2.6 x 1.2 inches, and weighs about 232 grams with battery and memory card loaded. Nikon has also announced three lenses.
The Nikon Coolpix W300 is priced at $389.95 (Rs. 25,000 approx.) in the US. It will be available in July, hence a price tag for Indian market is expected at that time.
