Instagram Stories are now coming to the web. The Facebook owned photo and video sharing site will now let you post Stories from mobile web and desktop. Prior to this, you could upload stories only via Instagram’s mobile apps.
Now when you visit and login to instagram.com on your mobile or desktop, you can see the same Stories at the top of your feed and you can tap to watch them. You can tap the right and left arrows to skip or go back to a story. Instagram says it will also allow users to upload stories via the mobile web in coming months.
Instagram Stories has been an instant hit since its launch a year ago. The feature which now has over 250 million daily active users is a Snapchat competitor. Instagram recently announced that those under the age of 25 spend more than 32 minutes a day on its platform, on average, while those age 25 and older spend more than 24 minutes a day.
The ability to post Stories via mobile web is beginning to roll out today to users globally.
