Amazon is working on a pair of smart glasses that are powered by Alexa, according to a new report from The Financial Times. The device will reportedly look like a regular pair of glasses that will tether to your phone and allow to speak to Alexa voice assistant.
The glasses are said to have a bone-conduction audio system built-in, so you don’t have to wear earphones to hear Alexa. Amazon hired Babak Parviz, founder of Google Glass, in 2014, and says he’s been closely involved in the project. In addition to the smart glasses, Amazon is also said to be working on a home security camera that could be linked to its existing Echo connected devices. Both the devices are expected to announced before the end of the year.
Earlier in July, Google announced Google Glass Enterprise Edition that features improved camera and battery life.
