HMD Global has scheduled an event in China on October 19th in China where the company is expected to launch a brand new phone. Currently, there is no clear information as to what the company might introduce because of the multiple possibilities. The company might launch the Nokia 8 variants in China or announce a brand new model altogether.
Two devices with model numbers TA-1041 and TA-1042 were certified in China last month, so it is a possibility that HMD Global might introduce two new devices this week. However, the latest teaser image found on Nokia’s exclusive TMall online store suggests that the company will be launching the Nokia 7. The teaser image reads ‘qi’ which means 7 in Chinese and the image also has OZO camera shadow in the background and text saying new Nokia phone is coming this week.
Latest rumors suggest that the Nokia 7 is expected to come in three different variants; one with 3GB and 32GB, another variant with 4GB and 32GB, and finally the high-end model with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. All the three options are said to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC and is rumored to support OZO Audio. Much like the Nokia 8, the Nokia 7 will also feature Bothie dual-sight feature.
All these are just speculations at the moment, and it is very much possible that HMD Global might just bring the new variant of Nokia 8 with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage that was launched in Finland recently. So, we need to wait for a couple of days more for the official announcement.
