Google has started rolling out Allo V23 yesterday and there are plenty of features that got revealed in an APK teardown that will be rolling out in the future update that includes camera effects for selfies and selfie clips, a new type of attachment, custom support for contact cards shared between people, and more.
We previously covered that the upcoming update would add new camera effects like the ice cream on the head, Bollywood zooms, question marks, and a blur effect. Though the icon occasionally shows up for these, there aren’t any signs the effects were actually present, and now it is clear why is that they are downloaded separately before you use them.
A standard Vcard storing and sharing contact information of your contacts. This feature was around for quite some time now, but only few email clients and contact managers do that. It looks like Google is said to be adding more elegant integration when you share contact details with friends or business to the Allo.
The implementation of the Vcard feature is limited to placeholders, it is expected to have the obvious output and read the vCard file and display the contents or just display the contact’s name and main details directly in the chat. Allow will now start suggesting group chats between yourself and others and the strings of code for this particular feature states ‘regional,’ which implies that location might play a key role.
The audio transcripts feature we covered might be coming very soon. This new update includes a promo line that clearly states it’s a new feature. You can update the Google Allo V23 from Google PlayStore or manually install the APK which is safe to install from here.
