Xiaomi teases a new variant of Redmi Go in India, 16GB storage variant expected

Xiaomi’s Redmi brand launched the entry-level Redmi Go smartphone earlier this year in India for Rs. 4499. It came only in a single storage variant-1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage. Now the company has teased a new storage variant of Redmi Go and the 16GB storage variant is expected to launch in India soon.

Redmi India has posted a tweet on Twitter with the hashtag #AapkiNayiDuniya’ which was also used by the company for promoting the launch of Redmi Go 8GB storage variant earlier this year. The teaser says ‘Zyada space=Zyada apps, Coming Soon’ in Hindi which translates to ‘More space=More apps’. This clearly indicates that a new storage variant of Redmi Go will be launched soon and is most likely to come with 16GB internal storage. As Redmi Go is an entry-level budget smartphone, it is unlikely for the company to increase the RAM and is expected to sport only 1GB RAM.

To recall, Redmi Go is the company’s first Android Go Edition smartphone in India and packs a 5-inch HD screen, Snapdragon 425 SoC with 1GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 5-megapixel front camera, 4G LTE with dedicated SIM slots and a 3000mAh battery.
