Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2019) with 8-inch display, 4G LTE, dual speakers, 5100mAh battery announced


Samsung has just announced its new Galaxy Tab A 8-inch (2019) (SM-T290) model and this does not come with an S-Pen that was present in the model launched in March this year. This new Galaxy Tab A 8.0 2019 sports a metallic design, dual speakers, 5100 mAh battery and more.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8-inch(2019) sports a 16:10 TFT display with a resolution of 1280 x 800, measures 210 x 124.4 x 8 mm and weighs 347g. It is powered by a 12nm quad core Snapdragon 429 Mobile Platform and comes with 2GB RAM with 32GB storage which can be further expanded up to 512GB through microSD. There is no home key on the front which in turn has increased the display area. It comes in WiFi only variant and LTE variant as well.

Regarding the optics, it sports an 8MP rear camera with autofocus support and a 2MP front camera. It has dual speakers, runs on Android 9 Pie, has 3.5mm jack, micro USB port, and sports a 5100 mAh battery. There is also a dedicated Kids mode that provides content designed specifically for kids to provide a suitable and safe entertainment space and also to proactively manage their content and usage time.

Pricing and Availability

Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0(2019) comes in Black and Silver colour options and is priced at 3,690,000 Vietnamese dong (US$158 / Rs. 10,860 approx.). It will be available in Vietnam starting July 12, 2019. Samsung is also giving 2-month free YouTube Premium subscription as well as 3 months of Spotify Premium subscription on purchase of this tablet. Since the support for the tablet has gone live on Samsung India website, it could launch here soon.
