Redmi Note 8, Note 8 Pro, and Redmi 8 go on open sale in India


Xiaomi’s Redmi brand launched the Redmi Note 8 Pro and Redmi Note 8 couple of months back and they have been available through flash sales. Almost after 2 months of the launch now, the company has announced an open sale of Redmi Note 8, Note 8 Pro, and Redmi 8 smartphones.

Redmi Note 8, Note 8 Pro, and Redmi 8 will be available at any time of the day on Amazon.in, Flipkart, Mi.com, and offline stores. These smartphones went on open sale at 12 Noon today and the company says that they have announced an open sale on “popular demand”. Redmi Note 8 Pro is priced starting at Rs. 14999, Redmi Note 8 is priced starting at Rs. 9999, and Redmi 8 is priced starting at Rs. 7999.

To recall, Redmi Note 8 Pro packs a 6.53-inch Full HD+ LCD screen with HDR support, 91.4% screen-to-body ratio. It is powered by the latest MediaTek Helio G90T SoC and is the first phone in the price range to feature liquid cooling that will reduce the temperature of the phone by 4 to 6 degrees. It features a 64-megapixel primary rear camera with 1/1.7″ Samsung GW1 Sensor with ISOCELL Plus technology, an 8-megapixel 120° ultra-wide-angle lens, 2-megapixel depth sensor and a 2-megapixel sensor for 2cm macro shots. There is a 20-megapixel camera on the front. Lastly, it packs a 4500mAh battery with support for MediaTek Pump Express 18W fast charging.

Redmi Note 8 has a 6.39-inch Full HD+ LCD screen with 90% screen-to-body ratio, is powered by Snapdragon 665 11nm Mobile Platform with up to 6GB RAM, features a 48-megapixel main camera with 4-in-1 pixel binning for low-light shots, 8-megapixel 120° ultra-wide-angle lens, 2-megapixel depth sensor and a 2-megapixel sensor for 2cm macro shots. There is a 13-megapixel camera on the front and it packs a 4000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging with a fast charger in the box.

Lastly, Redmi 8 has a 6.22-inch HD+ Dot Notch display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, is powered by Snapdragon 439 12nm Mobile Platform, compared to Snapdragon 632 in the Redmi 7, comes with up to 4GB RAM, features a 12-megapixel main camera with Sony IMX363 sensor, has a 2-megapixel depth sensor for portrait shots and an 8-megapixel camera on the front with AI selfies and portrait mode as well as AI face unlock. It packs a 5000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.
