Xiaomi’s Redmi brand launched the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max smartphone in India back in March starting at Rs. 14,999, later in April the phone got up to Rs. 1500 price hike in the country due to increase in GST to 18% on mobile phones, and was sold at Rs. 16499. Today the phone has received a second price hike of Rs. 500 for the 6GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB versions and is being sold for Rs. 16,999 and Rs. 18,499, respectively.

The 8GB+ 128GB version of the Note 9 Pro Max is still selling for Rs. 19,999. The phone is still available only through flash limited sales every week on Amazon.in and Mi.com, and the next sale is scheduled for June 24th.
Few weeks back the Redmi Note 8, Redmi 8A Dual, and Redmi 8 recently received a price hike for the fourth time. Xiaomi did not reveal the reason behind the increasing rates for their smartphones.
