Amazon has announced yet another reason to buy its highly popular Fire TV devices – Live TV channels. A new update to Fire TV will be adding two new tabs to the interface – “Live” and “On Now”, where users will be able to access live content from subscribed apps from various content providers across India.
At launch, Fire TV will have live channels from SonyLIV, Voot, Discovery+, NextG TV. From these providers, users will be able to access channels such as Sony SAB HD, Colors HD, SET HD, Nick HD+, Dangal, DD National, News18 India, MTV Beats HD, SONY BBC Earth HD, Mastii TV Music, Discovery. Later on, Zee5 is expected to join, bringing Zee TV, Zee Cinema and Zee News.
While the “Live” tab, users will be able to see all the channels available and in the “On Now” tab, users will able to see all the programmes that are currently live on different channels. Amazon has also added a Fire TV channel guide, accessible in “Options” in the “Live Tab”.
Live TV is rolling out today and should be available to all existing Indian Fire TV and Fire TV Edition customers in the coming weeks.
