This time, the event will be completely virtual and free for everyone to access, which has become the norm for any event held during these times of the CODIV-19 pandemic.

Google I/O is typically the time when the company unveils what they have been working on in the last year, including the next version of Android. The 3-day event will also contain loads of developer meetings and discussions for the various software services that Google offers. This year, there are even rumours of Google announcing new hardware such as an updated Pixel Buds and possibly the Pixel 5a.
In 2020, Google I/O had to be cancelled due to the Coronavirus outbreak and Google did not have time to plan an online version of the event. As the pandemic is still not over, and in-person events are still unsafe, Google I/O 2021 will be an online virtual event, and Google has already set up the site for it.
Just like every year, they have also also released a puzzle, which when solved will reveal details about this year’s IO. Registrations for attending Google IO 2021 have opened and can be accessed here.
