Along with the new iPad Pro models and the new iMac, Apple unveiled the new redesigned Apple Podcasts and also launched the Apple Podcasts Subscriptions, which a paid premium service. It will offer a variety of benefits such as -free listening, access to additional content, and early or exclusive access to new series.
The redesigned app has an enhanced Search tab that provides quick access to Top Charts and categories. There are new pages for shows and episodes with options to follow, listen, and share, and users can now save individual episodes for offline playback. The app also has a Smart Play button, which will automatically play the latest episode for shows and the beginning episode for serialized shows.
Another feature that Apple introduced for the Podcasts app is called Channels. It is a curated group of shows, made by creators, with unique titles, descriptions, and artwork, and there will be both free and paid channels on the app. This will be available with iOS 14.5 next week.
Lastly, Apple announced the Apple Podcasts for Creators website, where creators can access various resources related to creating, managing and publishing podcasts. It contains a variety of tools such as metadata editing, schedule and manage show availability, organize shows into channels, manage multiple users, and more.
Apple Podcasts subscription costs Rs. 1,799 / $19.99 per year and will start in May and will be available in 170 countries.
