MediaTek today announced a new SoC designed for tablets, 2-in-1, laptops – Kompanio 1300T. It comes with support for 5G, HDR10+, 4K HDR video recording technology, and more.
The Kompanio 1300T is built on the 6nm architecture and features an octa-core CPU with four Arm Cortex-A78 super cores combined with four efficiency-focused Arm Cortex-A55 cores and is paired with Arm Mali-G77 MC9 GPU. It supports up to 16GB of quad-channel memory and dual-channel UFS 3.1 storage.
Further, the chip supports 2.5K displays with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, support for HDR10+, and features MediaTek MiraVision technology. Apart from this, the chip supports up to 108MP cameras, 4K 60fps video encoding and decoding, chip-level staggered 4K HDR video recording, and it also integrates an ultra-low-power voice on wakeup (VoW) function. As for connectivity, it supports all 5G Sub-6GHz frequency bands, 2CC Carrier Aggregation (2CC CA), Bluetooth 5.2, and Wi-Fi 6. Other features include MediaTek HyperEngine 3.0, a video encoding engine.
Availability
Tablets powered by the MediaTek Kompanio 1300T platform are expected to be announced in Q3 2021.
