Google Pixel 6 Pro with Tensor SoC, 12GB RAM, Android 12 surfaces in benchmarks

Google already confirmed that it will use its own Tensor SoC for the first time. A recent rumour revealed that the SoC is nothing but an unreleased Samsung Exynos 9855 SoC that will offer similar performance as the Exynos 2100 SoC. Now the pixel 6 Pro has allegedly surfaced in Geekbench listing that reveals 2 x 2.8 GHz ARM Cortex-X1 CPU for ultimate processing power, 2 x 2.25 GHz performance cores and 4 x 1.8GHz power efficient CPU cores.

To remind you, the Exynos 2100 Octa-Core CPU has 1 x 2.9GHz ARM Cortex-X1 CPU for ultimate processing power, 3 x 2.8GHz ARM A78 CPUs for optimal performance and 4x 2.2GHz ARM A55 CPUs optimized for efficiency. The Google Tensor SoC will have ARM Mali-G78 GPU, same as the Exyos 2100.

It reveals Single-Core score of 414 and Multi-Core score of 2074 in Geekbench 5. The phone has 12GB of RAM and runs Android 12. Even though this uses two Cortex-X1 Prime Core compared to one in the Exynos 2100 and Snapdragon 888, the 3 x 2.8GHz performance cores in Exynos 2100 and Snapdragon 888 offer better scores in the benchmarks.

Android 12 beta 4 release revealed Exynos Modem 5123 for 5G in the Google Tensor SoC.  The modem is based on 7-nanometer (nm) extreme ultra-violet (EUV) processing technology and  offers up to 7.35Gbps 5G NR mmWave and 5.1Gbps Sub-6GHz download speeds.

We should know more details in the coming weeks. Even though recent rumours revealed that the Pixel 6 series will be introduced on September 13th, a day before the iPhone 13 launch event, other rumours point to October launch, after the release of Android 12 stable version.
