Xiaomi 12 series and MIUI 13 to be announced on December 28

Xiaomi has finally confirmed that it will introduce the Xiaomi 12 series smartphones on December 28th. This comes after the company confirmed that the phone will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 flagship SoC. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has confirmed that the company will also introduce the most expected MIUI 13 alongside.

In a post on weibo, the CEO described the challenges that Xiaomi has faced over the past year. He mentioned that everyone is more concerned about, such as “How will Xiaomi continue to climb the high-end road? How will the smart electric car be successfully released in 2024″ and more.

How to achieve “faster and more stable” is the big question we are trying to solve. The question is difficult, but if you have a clear idea, you will be able to find the answer.

During this year, Xiaomi’s friends cared about us very much and gave us a lot of opinions. Please rest assured, I have seen everyone’s opinions, and our team is indeed earnestly improving. “Fast, more stable”, and the upcoming Xiaomi 12 and MIUI 13, are our answers to everyone.

From the weibo posts posted by the CEO Lei Jun, Lu Weibing, General Manager of Redmi, and Xiaomi’s product director Wang Teng Thomas, the Xiaomi 12 series will include – Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12X, and Xiaomi 12 Pro.

The Xiaomi 12 is said to feature a 6.2-inch curved screen with a centre punch-hole and minimal bezels and is said to measure 152.7 x 70.0 x 8.6~11.5mm (including rear camera bump), making it smaller, but slightly thicker than the predecessor. It could pack a 4500mAh battery, and the 3C certification hints at 67W fast charging as well as support for wireless charging.

Xiaomi 12X is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 870, feature a 6.28-inch FHD+ AMOLED 120Hz screen, in-display fingerprint sensor and 67W wired fast-charging. Based on rumours, Xiaomi 12 Pro might feature a 5x telephoto camera, bigger battery, bigger Quad HD AMOLED screen and support 120W fast charging.

We should know more details about the Xiaomi 12 series in the coming days, before they go official next week.
